BIG CANOE CABIN, BIGGER THAN EXPECTED OUTDOOR LIVING! Discover a soulful cedar cabin on .69 fully fenced acres, with rare level, usable grounds, a large new deck and the unmistakable warmth of true mountain living.
Inside, soaring tongue-and-groove wood ceilings, exposed beams and hardwood floors give this 3-bedroom, 2-bath home its rich, timbered personality. Expansive windows invite the wooded setting indoors and fill the gathering spaces with natural light, while a wood-burning fireplace makes cool mountain evenings even better. The open kitchen features granite countertops and flows easily into the dining and living areas, equally suited to a quiet weekend away or a houseful of favorite people.
Upstairs, the private primary suite feels like a hideaway of its own, complete with the nostalgic charm of a clawfoot tub. Custom California Closets cabinetry and built-ins in multiple areas make clever use of space, providing beautifully integrated storage throughout the home.
Nearly $200,000 in documented improvements beginning in 2020 have substantially enhanced the property while preserving the warmth and individuality that make an authentic cabin so appealing. Improvements include the roof, HVAC, renovated bathrooms, extensive hardwood flooring, concrete driveway, electrical updates, interior doors, lighting, appliances, custom cabinetry and more. Most recently, a large new deck and fencing were added, giving the home an entirely new way to live outdoors. And the unfinished partial basement provides loads of storage space.
And outdoors is where this property delivers an unexpected bonus. The fully fenced .69-acre homesite offers level, genuinely usable areas that are an uncommon find in mountain terrain. A screened porch with the fantastic EZE breeze porch window system provides a sheltered spot for morning coffee, reading or listening to a summer rain, while the large new deck opens things up for dining, entertaining and evenings beneath the hardwood canopy. There is room for gardens, four-legged companions, play or simply enjoying the quiet and privacy of the wooded setting.
Beyond your own patch of the mountains, Big Canoe offers a lifestyle all its own. This gated community unfolds across thousands of acres of North Georgia beauty, with lakes, miles of trails and greenways, golf, tennis, pickleball, swimming, fitness, marina, dining and seemingly endless ways to spend a day outside. Hike in the morning, head to the lake or golf course in the afternoon, then come home, light a wood-burning fire and settle in for the evening.
Full-time home, weekend hideaway or somewhere in between, this is mountain living with a little soul to it. Woodsy, welcoming, beautifully improved and refreshingly removed from the ordinary.
